Two of the flagship businesses of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, which manages the country’s sovereign wealth fund, have been established. They are Equilease Systems Limited and NSIA Advanced Medical Service Ltd.

According to a statement, this happened after the Enugu State Government received the Enugu State Medical Diagnostic Centre on Monday as part of its programme to expand access to healthcare.

The diagnostic center’s facility in Enugu hosted the ceremony marking the diagnostic center’s opening and handover.

“MedServe is being established to serve as the vehicle to deliver NSIA’s healthcare expansion objectives with a goal to provide high-quality and affordable healthcare services and ensure equitable geographic access to these services throughout the country,” it was stated in the document.

The business will build, outfit, and run NSIA’s growing network of healthcare facilities and provide top-notch medical care across the country.

However, it continued, “EquiLease is a specialised provider of equipment leasing services.

“The company will offer medical equipment leasing services, leveraging its strategic advantage to catalyse investments in healthcare institutions and facilitate the acquisition of equipment to improve the quality of care in the country,” according to the company’s business plan.

Innovative financing and leasing programmes for cutting-edge medical equipment would be offered by Equilease in collaboration with manufacturers of medical equipment.

It would initially limit its service offerings to MedServe as an anchor client.

According to the statement, one of the three components of the event was the transfer of the Enugu State Medical Diagnostic Centre from the Enugu State Government.

The Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of NSIA, Mr. Aminu Umar-Sadiq, said during his remarks on the three-part event: “Over the past five years, we have built a strong and successful portfolio of healthcare service delivery centres.

“One of the steps in our effort to make healthcare available and affordable for all Nigerians is the transfer of the Enugu Centre for upgrade and rehabilitation. One of the 23 centres to receive an upgrade for oncology and diagnostic services is the centre.
