President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Olaspo Olusi as the new managing director and CEO of the Bank of Industry (BOI).

An announcement from Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, on Thursday in Abuja confirmed the appointment.

The former BOI Managing Director, Mr. Olukayode Pitan, resigned, and Olusi was appointed in his place, he added.

He said the position was for a four-year initial tenure.

For the previous 20 years, Olusi has worked as a development finance specialist and economist for the World Bank, according to the statement.

The Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance at the time employed Olusi as their economic advisor from 2011 until 2015.

“Hull University in the United Kingdom is where he graduated.”
