Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has suspended the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) indefinitely in the state.

This follows a clash between factional members on Tuesday.

Mr Akeredolu’s senior special assistant on special duties and strategy Doyin Odebowale said the indefinite suspension would not affect the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN).

The governor said all NURTW members are to immediately vacate all motor parks across the state.

Akeredolu had last week announced the suspension of NURTW and RTEAN activities in motor parks for two weeks.

Some vehicles were vandalised in the clash on Tuesday.

Akeredolu said such incidents were unacceptable.
