Buhari orders service chiefs to take out bandits, kidnappers

President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the nation’s service chiefs to intensify their efforts against banditry, insurgency and allied criminality in the country in a bid to unravel the identities of masterminds and sponsors of those acts and take them out.

The National Security Adviser, Major- General Babagana Monguno(rtd), made this known today while addressing newsmen at the State House.

He noted that Buhari handed down the directive at a meeting he had with the service chiefs at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

He quoted the President as saying that a situation where the armed forces are reactionary rather than being proactive will no longer because tolerated.

Buhari met the service chiefs ahead of his trip to London for routine medical check-up.
