‘I’ll become a Nollywood filmmaker someday’, Wizkid hints at quitting music
Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has hinted at joining the Nigerian motion picture industry, Nollywood.
The ‘Essence’ crooner dropped the hint during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra.
The interview asked Wiz what he would have been doing if he wasn’t a musician and he said he would have been a fashion designer or a filmmaker.
He explained that he would have been producing Nollywood movies, adding that he does not care about Hollywood.
“I have never seen myself doing anything else but music so it’s like hard to see me do anything else. But what I would love to do, definitely fashion, movies someday,” wizkid said.
He added: “Like real, like real real movies because like I’m a big fan of movies as well. I’m a big fan of Nollywood. That’s my favourite.”
He said he is not sure if he would ever act in Nollywood but might produce a Nollywood movie someday.
Wizkid released his fifth studio album, ‘More Love, Less Ego’ on Friday. The album features collaborations with fellow Nigerian artists, Ayra Starr, and Naira Marley, British rapper, Skepta, American crooner, Don Toliver, and a host of others.
