Buhari condemns Imo monarch’s murder
President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the murder of the traditional ruler of the Obudi-Agwa community, Eze Ignitus Asor, in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.
The Nigerian News gathered that gunmen had invaded the community on Monday morning, killing the traditional ruler and two other residents.
The Imo Police spokesman, Michael Abattam, stated that the attackers, who reportedly came in four vehicles and two motorcycles that also had a female accomplice that completed the task with them, disguised themselves as people in distress and approached the royal father for help.
Reacting to the incident, President Buhari, in a statement on Tuesday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, ordered security agencies in the state to investigate the dastardly act and ensure that the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
While commiserating with the family and friends of the deceased monarch, the Obudi-Agwa community, as well as all those affected by the attacks, he prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured.
President Buhari, who also commended the spirited efforts by the Imo State Government to improve the security situation, urged the general public to support the collective efforts of state actors and members of the local community to keep everyone safe.
