W’Cup: Torres hits brace as Spain pummel Costa Rica 7-0

Barcelona forward, Ferran Torres scored twice as Spain ran riots in their World Cup Group E opener against Costa Rica on Wednesday.

Dani Olmo opened the scoring for the Spaniards in the eleventh minute at the Al Thumama Stadium.

Marco Asensio doubled the lead ten minutes later, before Torres grabbed his brace scoring from the spot in the 31st and 54th minutes.

20 minutes, Gavi extended the 2010 World champions’ lead with another brilliant goal.

Carlos Soler added another goal for the Europeans at the 90-minute mark, before Alvaro Morata wrapped up the scoring for Spain two minutes later.

The win is the biggest victory at the Qatar World Cup so far.
