A former presidential aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has asserted that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, is the grand patron of the prescribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militia arm, Eastern Security Network (ESN).
According to the APC chieftain, the former Anambra state governor’s beer, Hero, is flagged Biafra symbol, which shows he is in solidarity with the secessionists.
Recall that former Ministry of Aviation, Femi Fani-Koyade, while featuring on a national television program recently, questioned the placement of Biafran flag on the beer brand of the Labour Party president candidate.
Despite allegations of treason, Peter Obi has refused to clear the air on his relationship with pro-Biafran groups, insisting that armed Biafran militia groups are not “terrorists”. He also expressed his desire to negotiate with IPOB and other secessionist group should he wins next year presidential election.
Terror attacks on government facilities and security personnel, and civilians in Southeastern Nigeria by Biafran militants have left hundreds dead, thousands abducted and properties worth billions of naira destroyed over the last eight years.
Reacting, Garba declared that Peter Obi is the grand patron of Biafran militias.
In a tweet on Sunday, he wrote: “Say what you can, Peter Obi is the grand patron of IPOB/ESN, even his beer, hero is flagged by Biafra symbol. How best can you connect the dots?”
